Your glow starts before you walk through our doors. Here’s how to prep like a true Bungalow Babe:

• Hydrate + moisturize in the days leading up — glowing skin starts from within. Drink plenty of water and keep your skin moisturized daily, but skip the lotion after your final prep shower.

• Exfoliate like you mean it — a smooth, even canvas is key to a long lasting bronze. Gently buff away dry skin and remove any leftover tan.

• Book your beauty timeline wisely — waxing, manicures, pedicures, facials, or any other beauty services should be done at least 24 hours before your appointment. Your spray tan is always the final stop on your beauty train.

• Shower, shave, and exfoliate the night before (or no later than 10 hours before your appointment). Hot water, shaving, and certain soaps can leave residue or open pores, which can interfere with your tan’s development. Use a gel-based soap (never cream-based) and avoid razors with moisture strips.

• Arrive product-free — no deodorant, lotion, body oil, makeup, or perfume after your prep shower.

• Hard pass on Dove & Olay — pre or post-tan, these formulas can break down your glow.

Prep well, and your color will thank you by developing to it's true depth, lasting longer, and fading smoother.

For your post-tan outfit, think loose, baggy, sweatsuit vibes. Please wear long, dark, loose-fitting clothing and sandals — tight clothing can cause unwanted lines in your fresh bronze. We'd also recommend ditching the bra.

During your session, you can wear as much or as little as you’re comfortable with. If you choose to keep undergarments on, make sure they’re dark in color. While our solution washes out of most fabrics, it’s always better to be safe.

**Men must wear boxers, briefs, swim trunks, or shorts during the spray tan process.

From the moment you step into The Bronzed Bungalow, your glow is our priority. Plan to be with us for about 20-30 minutes in total. We’ll start with a quick consultation to discuss your desired depth of color, your skin tone, and any upcoming events so we can create your perfect custom blend.

The application itself takes about 15 minutes, using our signature technique to ensure an even, streak-free finish. You’ll leave with an immediate color — this is the cosmetic bronzer, giving you that instant “just back from vacation” look. Your true tan will gradually develop over the next several hours, revealing your customized glow.

Chill out, babe — your only job now is to let the magic develop. After your spray tan, avoid getting wet or sweating until your first rinse. Try not to touch your skin with the palms of your hands while the bronzer layer is still on to prevent transfer.

Your rinse time will be based on your desired depth of color (your artist will guide you before you leave). If you choose to sleep in your tan before rinsing, wear long, loose-fitting clothing to avoid skin-to-skin contact, and keep the fan or A/C on to prevent sweating.

Your first rinse depends on the solution you choose (Please ensure you understand which option you have been sprayed with:

• Signature Solutions – Rinse with soap anytime after 10–12 hours post tan.

• Express/Rapid Solutions – This is rinse-time sensitive and MUST be WITHOUT soap. Your depth of color is determined by your rinse time:

• 2 hours = Light

• 3 hours = Medium

• 4 hours = Dark

• 4+ hours = Ultra Dark

Rinse Ritual:

• Use cold or lukewarm water — no hot showers.

• With the palm of your hand, agressively glide off all bronzer; skip the loofah, it’s too abrasive for your fresh tan.

• Let the water run clear for about 2 minutes before stepping out. Ensure you have no random water streaks on your skin (if you do, rub harder in this area). You may look lighter at first — your true color will continue to develop for 12 hours post spray tan session.

• Pat skin dry, never rub.

• Skip moisturizer until your tan is fully developed (12 Hours post spray tan)

• Soap shower may be taken 10 - 12 hours post spray tan session. Use a spray tan safe body wash.

• Once fully developed, moisturize twice daily to keep your glow looking good and lasting long.

Your Bungalow bronze is an investment — treat it like one. Here’s how to keep it glowing, even, and envy-worthy for as long as possible:

• Moisturize twice daily after your spray tan is fully developed (12 hours post session). Choose a water-based, fragrance-free formula, or go natural with coconut or jojoba oil.

• Stay hydrated from the inside out — water is your glow’s best friend.

• Avoid long soaks or excessive sweating (think hot tubs, saunas, marathon workouts) — they’ll cause your tan to fade faster and unevenly.

• Steer clear of products with exfoliants, synthetic fragrance, mineral oils, or essential oils, and skip Dove & Olay entirely pre and post-tan.

• Spritz smart — avoid spraying perfume directly on your skin.

• Protect your glow — wear SPF daily, opting for a cream-based, oil-free, oxybenzone-free formula (no aerosols).

With proper care, your bungalow bronze will typically last about one week, fading evenly and beautifully. Keep in mind — your lifestyle plays a big role in longevity. Frequent workouts, long soaks in water, dehydration, skipping moisturizer, changes in pH balance, hormones, and certain medications can all impact your results.

Treat your tan with care, follow our aftercare tips, and you’ll enjoy that fresh-from-vacation glow for as long as possible.

While we believe you never need a reason to get bronzed up, timing matters if you’re tanning for a special occasion. Here’s what we recommend:

• Special Event: 2 days before

• Photoshoot: 2 days before

• Vacation: As close to departure as possible to keep your glow fresh for the entire trip

This timing allows your color to fully develop, settle, and look its absolute best when it matters most.

We love bronzing up our mamas-to-be, and we spray tan pregnant clients all the time — but every pregnancy is different, which is why we always recommend consulting with your physician before booking.

For expecting or breastfeeding clients, we suggest The Coastal Clean — our minimal-ingredient, non-toxic, FD&C dye free, and fragrance-free bronze that’s as pure as it is beautiful.

If you’re currently breastfeeding, we recommend covering that specific area during your session for extra peace of mind.

** PLEASE keep in mind - Sunburn damage can last far longer than what you see on the surface, and tanning over compromised skin will never turn our pretty. The best thing you can do is let your skin fully recover — that way, when you do bronze, it’s smooth, even, and gorgeous.

You’ll find plenty of parking along Brown Ave. and the surrounding cross streets. Just be sure to check posted signs — most spaces in the area have a 2-hour limit, which is perfect for your appointment but worth noting before you settle in.

Enter through the main black gate and our suite is the third door on the right. If for some reason the main gate is locked, please give us a call or shoot us a text.

If you’re running late, please contact us as soon as possible. We understand life happens, but because our appointments are booked back-to-back, arriving late often means we can’t give you the full, unrushed Bungalow experience you deserve.

If you’re more than a few minutes behind, we may need to reschedule your appointment, and a $50 cancellation/reschedule fee will apply. This ensures we respect both your time and the time of the clients booked after you — and that no one leaves with a rushed or lackluster bronze.

We understand plans change, and we’re happy to reschedule your appointment — we just ask that you do so at least 12 hours before your scheduled start time.

Any late cancellations, late reschedules, late arrivals, or no-shows will incur a flat $50 fee. This policy ensures we can respect the time of our artists and other clients who are waiting for their perfect bronze.
